The most important thing when electroplating nickel is the acidity of the electrolyte. Our proposed fast method of checking and calibrating acidity does not require special equipment, so it is used in our factory laboratories and electroplating plants. To 20 ml of the filtered electrolyte sample, 0.5 ml of a 0.06% bromocresol purple alcoholic solution was added and when it turned blue, the color disappeared with 0.1 N HCl.
