Bad eating habits can hinder swimmers from creating outstanding performance and potential during the game. It is estimated that 20% of American adolescents (9-13 years old) and 36% of adolescents (14-18 years old) do not eat breakfast. For young swimmers, the reasons for not eating breakfast include eating too late in the morning, or eating too much the night before, oppressing hunger in the early morning. For swimmers, breakfast is above all else - breakfast is the swimmer’s engine and brain. Therefore, not eating breakfast is a bad diet that swimmers have to overcome.
