Abstract To study the role of viruses and carcinogens in the formation of esophageal carcinomas, human embryo esophageal cultures and HPV18E6E7AAV infection were used. The cultured cells were divided into two groups. TPA (5ng / mL) was added to SHEEC1 group for 4 weeks. SHEE did not add TPA in the control group. Morphology of cell transformation, cell cycle, soft agar culture and tumorigenicity of nude mice all proved that SHEEC1 had been transformed malignantly. E6E7 gene was detected by FISH and PCR in two groups
