一、486 SLC微处理器的诞生及设计特色486 SLC最早是IBM公司为遵守环境保护机构EPA的“能源之星”计划而设计的,它的早期型号被称为386 SLC。一开始SLC芯片仅用于笔记本计算机,但是在当今绿色风暴席卷计算机界的时候,486SLC开始被移植到台式机上,并受到用户青睐。从设计技术上,486 SLC可追溯到Intel公司的386 SL,该芯片是Intel公司在1990年10月推出的,目的是用于体积很小而且采用电池供电的膝上型或笔记本型计算机。它兼容80386 DX处理器,比一般的386芯片省电,386 SL还可利用系统管理中断(SMI)对微机其他部件如CRT、硬盘驱动器等进行控制。
486 SLC Microprocessor Birth and Design Features The 486 SLC was first designed by IBM to comply with the EPA’s Energy Star program of the Environmental Protection Agency. Its earlier model was known as the 386 SLC. The SLC chip was initially used for notebook computers only, but as the current green storm swept through the computing world, the 486SLC began to be ported to desktops and favored by users. From a design point of view, the 486 SLC dates back to Intel’s 386 SL, introduced by Intel in October 1990 for small, battery-powered laptop or notebook computers. It is compatible with the 80386 DX processor, power saving than the average 386 chip, 386 SL can also use system management interrupt (SMI) to control other components such as CRT, hard drive and so on.
