光纤通信属于有线通信,它的传输媒介是光纤,信息载体是光,首先将电信号转换成光信号,再通过光纤将光信号传递。因其具有传输容量大,保密性好,损耗低等许多优点,已经成为当今世界最主要的有线通信方式。本文先概述光纤通信的背景意义和发展历史,然后总结光纤通信的特点并展望它未来的发展趋势。
Optical fiber communication belongs to the wired communication. Its transmission medium is optical fiber. The information carrier is light. First, the electric signal is converted into an optical signal, and then the optical signal is transmitted through the optical fiber. Because of its transmission capacity, confidentiality, low loss and many other advantages, has become the world’s most important wired communication. This article first outlines the background and development history of optical fiber communications, and then summarizes the characteristics of optical fiber communications and prospects its future trends.
