In October 2010, an article was published in the journal Pediatrics, sponsored by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Nutrition Committee, which sets out new guidelines for iron intake for infants and children. The Nutrition Board recognizes that the ideal way to prevent iron deficiency and iron-deficiency anemia is to have a natural iron-rich diet in your diet and, in some cases, children still need liquid iron supplements or use Chewed vitamins to get the iron you need.
