牙轮钻头大径向滑动轴承的配合间隙值对整个钻头的工作性能有很大影响。从润滑理论的分析表明,最小油膜厚度随半径间隙变化的幅度很小;从接触力学理论的分析表明,适当减小径向间隙值,可以降低轴承接触压力峰值;从摩擦发热角度的分析表明,减小配合间隙可以降低摩擦发热和磨损量;普通合金钢滑动轴承半径间隙值不小于0.05mm,硬质合金硬-硬轴承半径间隙不小于0.035mm时可避免出现热卡死现象。最后结合牙轮钻头实际制造过程,提出适当减小现有轴承径向间隙值的措施。
