Objective: To investigate the changes of myocardial enzymes and the relationship between the degree of poisoning and the prognosis of patients with acute fluoroacetamide intoxication. Methods: Thirty-nine patients with acute fluoroacetamide poisoning admitted to our hospital from June 2004 to December 2009 were enrolled as poisoning group. 35 healthy volunteers were enrolled in this study. Enzyme kinetic assay was used to detect acute fluoroacetamide The poisoned patients were monitored on the 3rd, 7th and 14th day after admission, and compared with the control group. Results: The levels of myocardial enzyme in patients with acute fluoroacetamide poisoning were significantly higher than those in control group, and increased with the increase of poisoning degree. The myocardial enzymes in patients with death were higher than those in control group. The levels of myocardial enzymes increased first and then decreased . Conclusion: Myocardial enzymes in patients with acute fluoroacetamide poisoning are related to the severity of poisoning. To dynamically monitor the changes of myocardial enzymes may help to determine the severity and prognosis of patients with poisoning.
