Anita Desai, an Indian English writer who has been nominated three times for the Booker Prize, has far-reaching influence on Indian contemporary literature. Interpreting the “silent” theme of “Banquet feast” in the context of Spivak’s post-colonial feminism can highlight how the author reveals the traditional Indian women’s struggle against patriarchal domination and their use of writing to break the “ Silence, ”the efforts of third-world women to gain the right to speak, to enable readers to better understand the value of seeking identity of Indian women, the creation of the main purpose of women’s consciousness. Studying this topic seriously has important and far-reaching significance for the further analysis of Anita Desai’s post-colonial feminism.
