汉简发现之前,石刻文字几乎是研究汉代隶书的唯一资料,随着清代金石学的繁荣复兴,清末民国时期对汉代刻石的推崇和追捧达到了无以复加的地步,金石收藏家往往不惜重值搜罗购求。建国以来,各地也陆续新发现了若干种汉代碑刻,这些都为书法研究提供了大量宝贵的素材,也为书法爱好者提供了学习借鉴的资料。

With the prosperous revitalization of the petrology in the Qing Dynasty, the respected and sought after stone carvings of the Han Dynasty during the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China reached an irreplaceable level.
