ABR业务是ATM中新定义的一种业务类型,它主要面向数据传输服务,采用基于速率的端到端的拥塞控制机制。TCP是Internet所采用的主要数据传输协议,采用基于窗口的拥塞控制机制。文中主要讨了TCP与ABR业务所采用的两种不同的拥塞控制机制,分析了基于ANR的TCP协议所呈现的一些特点以及ATM交换机缓存的大小对TCP性能的影响。
ABR business is a new type of business defined in ATM, it is mainly for data transmission services, the use of rate-based end-to-end congestion control mechanism. TCP is the main data transmission protocol adopted by the Internet, and adopts the window-based congestion control mechanism. This paper mainly discusses two different congestion control mechanisms used by TCP and ABR services and analyzes some of the features presented by the ANR-based TCP protocol and the impact of ATM switch cache size on TCP performance.
