目前世界上有五千多种语言。其中使用人口超过千万的有19种,这19种语言使用人口总计三十亿,约占世界人口的75％。世界上使用汉语的人数最多;英语分布面最广,有34个国家通用英语。在语言中有三分之二以上语言没有文字。目前有20多种语言,已经无法对话,因为会说这些语言的,每一种只剩下一个人了。世界上使用人口最多的10种语言依次为:汉语、英语、俄语、西班牙语、北印度语、阿拉伯语、葡萄牙语、孟加拉语、德语和日语。
There are over 5,000 languages in the world today. Of these, 19 use more than 10 million people, and these 19 languages use a total of 3 billion people, accounting for about 75% of the world’s population. The world has the largest number of people using Chinese; the most widely distributed in English, 34 countries common English. Two thirds or more of the languages have no language. There are currently over 20 languages and no conversations are possible because there is only one person left behind for each of these languages. The 10 most spoken languages in the world are Chinese, English, Russian, Spanish, Hindi, Arabic, Portuguese, Bengali, German and Japanese.
