党的十六届四中全会提出了“构建社会主义和谐社会”这一重大论题,构建和谐社会不仅是中国共产党的奋斗目标,也是检验其执政治能力的一个尺度,对于巩固党的执政地位,推进社会主义事业,都有十分重大的理论和实践意义。本文论述了社会主义和谐社会思想的提出及其科学内涵,并在此基础上就如何构建社会主义和谐社会发表了一些见解。 The Fourth Plenary Session of the 16th CPC Central Committee put forward the major issue of “building a harmonious socialist society.” Constructing a harmonious society is not only the goal of the CPC but also a measure of its ability to govern.
