Some questions have been raised in the measurement of high-speed rocket skateboarding speeds on test rails at Holloman AFB, New Mexico. In experiments, skateboards were tethered to a rail system, which had the advantage of allowing the rocket to run on a defined course, but the downside was that near-surface rockets would produce severe multi-pathing in normal radio measurements and False goal problem. Also, the small size, high speed (6000 ft / s), and high acceleration (150 g) of some skateboards also severely dampen the echoes.
