According to foreign media reports, the British “Metal Bulletin” magazine recently held in Hong Kong, the Fifth Asian Steel Conference, Simon, a participant in Singapore, analyzed the steel market in Southeast Asia. He said that in 1993, Western Europe exported steel products to Southeast Asia, including China, reaching a record high of 6.54 million tons. In 1994, it still exceeded 6 million tons. Since then, although somewhat reduced, it still maintains a level of 3-4 million tons a year, of which 1 million tons are billets. It is estimated that China and Southeast Asia did not reduce the demand for imported steel. Even if all new or expanded mills are put into production, their demand seems to have increased, at least within production capacity. In the future, the mode of trade may change. China imports more steel and less imports from Southeast Asia. China (including Hong Kong) continues to invest heavily in capital construction and imports more than 18 million tons of steel in 1998. Predict Southeast Asia in 1998 ~
