一历史翻开了崭新的一页。一九四九年秋,当祖国上空五星红旗飘扬的时候,邓拓受中央委托,出任《人民日报》总编辑。这以后的十年,邓拓战斗在新中国的新闻工作岗位上,为党的新闻事业继续贡献着他的聪明才智。祖国获得新生,人民当家做主人,这给邓拓很大鼓舞。他写诗歌颂“凯歌吹落胡天月,京国长安羡政声”的“春明”景象,抒发“好凭马列擎长鲸”的情怀,他决心为人民做出新贡献。这时,邓拓虽身患多种疾病,常常休息不好,在一次搬书柜时,他的腰扭伤了,带上了钢夹板。但他仍然象一支上满弦的发条,
