Adducts are the key intermediate in the synthesis of many natural and chiral drugs A comprehensive review of the asymmetric 1,4-, 1,6- and 1,2-conjugate addition reactions of copper-catalysed Grignard reagents has been carried out, involving a wide range of α, β-unsaturated Ketones, unsaturated esters, unsaturated lactones, unsaturated thioesters, unsaturated aldehydes and unsaturated sulfones. In addition, the mechanism of the asymmetric 1,4-conjugate addition reaction has also been described in more detail.
