种子贮藏是一项十分重要的工作,搞好种子贮藏能为农业生产提供可靠的物质基础,提高种子播种质量。本文探讨利用水泥、木材、纸板、沥青、油毛毡、软木砖、聚苯乙烯泡沫塑料、珍珠岩粉等简单易行的建筑材料和2F-10型号的氟利昂制冷设备机组,将60m~2闲置的实验室改造成能隔热保冷、防潮隔气的种子冷库。2001年初竣工投入使用至今,经两年来对贮藏的杂交水稻、玉米种种温及库房温湿度定期定点的观察记录分析表明,库年平均温度为11.2℃,平均相对湿度为63.8%。对贮藏种子的含水量、发芽率定期定点跟踪两年检测结果表明:杂交水稻种子发芽率下降2.5%,杂交玉米种子发芽率下降4.0%,种子的含水量基本保持不变。贮藏种子的经济效益显著。

The results showed that the germination rate of hybrid rice decreased 2.5%, the germination rate of hybrid corn decreased 4.0%, the water content of the seed remained unchanged. The economic benefits of storing seeds are significant.
