吴昌硕(1844~1927年),原名俊,后改名为俊卿,初字昌硕,别号缶庐、苦铁、苍石、破荷亭长等,70岁后又署大聋,浙江湖州安吉人。他是吴派篆刻的创始人,在当时被公认为上海画坛、印坛的领袖,与任伯年、赵之谦、虚谷并称“清末海派四大家”。他创造性地继承了我国诗、书、画、印等艺术的优秀传统,独辟蹊径,将书法的用笔、字体的结构、篆刻的用刀和布局融入写意花鸟画之中,形成富有金石味的独特画风,成为了引领海派群伦的一代大师。
