Since the State Council promulgated the programmatic document No.128 for promoting the export of mechanical and electrical products in 1985, China’s mechanical and electrical product exports have gone through a decade of uneven roads and have achieved remarkable results. In 1994, under the impetus of foreign trade, foreign exchange, fiscal and taxation, and financial reforms, the export of mechanical and electrical products reached US$32 billion, the highest level in history, an increase of 40.9% over the previous year and higher than the national export growth of 31.9%.
