说到雷电,人们知道那是天上的云与云或天上的云与地面间产生的一种放电现象。并伴有强大的电光、声音和高热。人们看到的是极亮的闪电,听到的是隆隆雷声;由于闪电时电压、电流强度极高,所以造成的雷电灾害也十分严重。从古至今,人们一直在想方设法防御或减轻雷击所造成的损失。古代无论是建筑中吻兽上用铁丝做成的舌须,还是由塔尖垂下入地的铁链,都可以说是现代避雷针的雏形。避雷针实际上并不避雷,而是引雷,其科学名词应该称“接闪器”,避雷针不过是传统称呼而已。自1750年美国人富兰克林发明避雷针以来,一直被世界各国所应用。避雷针以接闪理论为依据,即把闪电流引下来导入大地,将雷电流消散到大地里面。避雷针的保护范围有一定的限制,因此并非安上“避雷
