ASON技术的出现,极大地改变了光传送网的概念和运作模式,将对传送网产生深远的影响。从标准化现状来看,ASON网络的各项标准工作已经基本完成,仅在E-NNI接口的保护恢复方面还不完善。从ASON设备现状来看,基于SDH的ASON设备已基本成熟;基于OTN,即在OTN上面增加控制平面的OXC设备正在研发过程中。从ASON组网应用来看,ASON技术已经被全球很多运营商所采用。目前,ASON可针对运营商现有的分层结构在省际、省内和城域三个层面分别组网。ASON已在骨干传送网中发挥越来越重要的作用。2008年全球的电信运营商将积极建设超高速、智能的光网络,以不断满足用户的需求。
