1987年《媒体基本法》的废除与《关于定期刊物登记的法律》的颁布,是韩国报业发展的重要分水岭。报禁解除后,地方报业的发展迎来了春天,但1997年末的金融危机直接威胁地方报社的生存,中央大报们凭借雄厚的资金实力和悠久的历史逐渐蚕食地方报业市场。在夹缝市场的苦心经营中,韩国地方报纸通过坚守主业、多元经营、管控成本、抱团取暖,争取生存发展空间。
The abolition of the “Basic Law of the Media” in 1987 and the promulgation of the “Law on the Registration of Periodicals” are important watersheds in the development of the newspaper industry in Korea. After the ban was lifted, the development of local newspapers ushered in the spring. However, the financial crisis at the end of 1997 directly threatened the survival of local newspapers. The Central Newspaper gradually eroded the local newspaper market by virtue of its abundant financial strength and long history. In painstaking efforts in the crack market, local newspapers in South Korea strive to survive and expand their space for development by sticking to their main businesses, diversifying their operations, controlling costs, and heating up their armies.
