The difference between Germany and France is not only at the industry level, we should also see the governance and management style within the company. A major feature of German enterprises is that the importance of employee organization in making decisions about internal management in an enterprise is unmatched by other industrialized countries, especially France. Germany’s management style is more biased in negotiating and making concessions from both sides. However, the traditional elite education associated with higher private universities in France, coupled with the weakness of the workers’ representatives, led to a French preference for dictatorship and hierarchy.
