農民協會是農民自願結合的羣衆組織。在華北、東北等老區,農民協會已經完成了組織農民反對封建剝削以到消滅封建剝削的歷史任務。在華東、中南等新區,自解放迄今年餘以來,各地也已在剿匪反霸、減租退租以及生産救災運動中,先後成立了農民協會。據今年五月下旬的材料,單就華東、中南兩區而言,農民協會會員已有二千四百萬人,近兩個月來,又有猛烈的增長,這兩區的會員人數已達三千萬以上。有些省份,例如浙江,除一二少數縣份外,全省各縣均已召開了全縣農民代表大會,有的縣 Peasant associations are voluntary associations of peasants.
