The main concern of Buddhist ecological ethics is the development of the virtues of the subject itself. From the perspective of the growth and perfection of man and the realization of the ideal state of existence of man, how should the witness treat other life and the natural environment? This is essentially different from the intrinsic value and rights that highlight the natural ecology in the mainstream Western ecological ethics. They can not be replaced by each other but complement each other. Traditional Buddhism has a profound influence on both the intellectual class and ordinary people, and its ecological ethics has a great deal of room for social interaction. Since the modern times, the transformation and development of Buddhist social culture and education have provided new possibilities for the role of ecological ethics in society.
