贵州是全国马铃薯主产区之一,早在14世纪初,马铃薯就传入贵州。近10多年的发展,贵州成为了全国马铃薯生产发展最快的省份。从2000年到2011年,种植面积由716.3万亩发展到1000.5万亩,增长了39.7%,居全国第三位;鲜薯总产量从623万吨增加到946.9万吨,增长52%,位居全国第四。
