The study uses the EPPM model as a theoretical framework to explore the role of fear appeals in attitudinal behavior and attitude toward dangerous driving behaviors (speeding and non-wearing of seat belts). Fifty-four professional drivers completed the Safe Driving Behavior Questionnaire after watching the traffic safety fear appeal video. Regression analysis showed that fear of traffic accident video recording can change the driver’s attitude and behavior intention of speeding and driving without safety belt, but the effect is not exactly the same. Fear emotions evoke the threat assessment process mediated by fear emotions on the impact of non-speeding behavior intentions. Finally, the limitations of the study and future research are discussed.
