Objective: To understand the basic situation of rational use of drugs in a hospital outpatient. Provide a scientific basis for making unreasonable medication interventions. Methods According to the World Health Organization’s international indicators and our country’s “prescription management approach” and “hospital prescription reviews management practices (for trial implementation)” 2008 to 2012 the hospital outpatient prescriptions were investigated. Use Microsoft Excel for statistics. Results: The results of the analysis were based on a number of indicators of rational drug use monitoring. The results obtained were as follows: The average number of prescribed drugs for five years in the hospital was 2.12 in 2008, 2.06 in 2009, 1.91 in 2010 and 1.90 in 2011 Species in 2012, 2.00 kinds of drugs in the hospital in five years to prescribe the generic name of the drug was 97.00% in 2008, 99.02% in 2009, 99.70% in 2010, 100% in 2011, 100% in 2012, . The percentage of antibiotics used in the five-year visit to the hospital was 25.00% in 2008, 27.5% in 2009, 21.00% in 2010, 17.00% in 2011 and 19.00% in 2012, and the percentage of injections treated by the hospital for five years in 2008 30% in 2009, 28.5% in 2009, 21.5% in 2010, 22.00% in 2011 and 22.00% in 2012. The percentage of prescription drug used in this hospital’s basic drug or prescription drug group was 47.30% in 2008 and in 2009 At 53.40%, compared with 55.40% in 2010, 53.30% in 2011 and 53.00% in 2012. Conclusion: The findings of this survey show that the research on international indicators of rational drug use in this hospital is scientific and effective. The hospital outpatient prescription rational use of drugs most of the monitoring indicators more reasonable, but the prescription use of essential drugs at a lower rate, need to be improved.
