油桐尺蠖是近年来发现危害桉树的主要害虫之一,大面积发生时,整片桉树叶子被吃光,林木生长受阻,甚至死亡。为了控制害虫发生,减少灾害损失,同时又不破坏生态环境,本试验采用新一代仿生农药灭幼脲Ⅲ号作为防治试验药剂。从小区套笼试验,到大面积防治试验,结果表明:灭幼脲Ⅲ号对油桐尺蠖具有较强的毒杀作用,采用500~1000倍液防治四龄以下幼虫,施药后24小时可中毒,一周内可达到死亡高峰,二周内减退率达到90%以上,能够有效地控制虫灾的蔓延,可大面积推广应用。
