激光是一种受激跃迁的辐射光,它与生物有机体相互作用,使染色体和遗传物质分子(DNA)结构发生改变,从而导致性状和特性的变异,这种变异通过遗传复制可以留给后代以形成新的良种.十几年来国内外关于激光在农作物上的应用有不少报导,美国、苏联、加拿大、澳大利亚和我国中山大学、四川大学、复旦大学、浙江农学院等单位,采用多种激光器对稻、麦、蚕豆、首蓿、南瓜、西红柿和甜菜进行了辐处,取得了促进生长,增加糖价、蛋白质和维生素等效果.澳大利亚阿德莱特大学曾用氦一氖激光连续几个晚上对甘蔗植株进行辐射,抑制了开花速度,从而延长了营养生长期,提高了产量.我院蔗麻研究所一九七六
