评价理论是从系统功能语言学中的人际意义法发展起来的,涉及说话者的态度、感情的强度、价值以及读者对其的解读。明喻是利用喻体与本体之间的相似性对事物所进行的描述,喻体本身便能反映人类对事物本身持有的态度和评价。明喻的作用效果与韩礼德提出的人际功能相对应。本文尝试对比分析《德伯家的苔丝》原著与简写版中出现的明喻修辞格,浅析该修辞格在文中所起的评价作用。 The theory of appraisal has developed from the interpersonal meanings of system functional linguistics, involving the speaker’s attitude, the intensity and value of his feelings, and the reader’s interpretation of it. The simile is the description of things by the similarities between the metaphor and the ontology. The metaphor itself can reflect the attitude and evaluation that human beings hold on the things themselves. The effect of simile corresponds to that of Halliday’s interpersonal function. This article tries to analyze and contrast the figures of metonymy that appeared in the original and the short version of Tess of the Tess of the Dübe, and analyze the role of the rhetorical character in the essay.
