The interaction between crude blood components and fine solid particles at the oil-water interface is the main reason for the stability of crude oil emulsions. In this paper, a simple method is used to classify many substances in crude oil into two categories and to characterize their effect on the stability of decane / water emulsion either alone or after mixing. They are respectively referred to as crude oil emulsifier and crude oil demulsifier . The experimental results show that the stability of crude oil emulsion mainly depends on how much and the relative proportions of these two major classes of materials are contained and its relative importance can be qualitatively reflected by the interfacial tension. Moreover, the crude oil / water interfacial tension can be qualitatively determined Evaluate the stability of the crude oil emulsion.
