Feng Jianwu properly deviated from the tradition of Chinese painting and calligraphy to move closer to realism. Shi Lu, based on realism and tradition of pen and ink, turned out to be sincere instead of forced by the situation. The realism of ink and calligraphy or the realistic brushwork is related to the artistic trend of the times and more to the impulse of building personal style.
