In the first quarter of 2006, the world economic situation was obviously good intervention period. Statistics from the British “Economist” magazine show that the world economy grew by 5.2% in the first quarter of 2006 over the same period of last year, up 0.3 percentage points from the fourth quarter of 2005. Among them, the strong economic growth in the United States, the accelerated growth of the euro area economy, the Japanese economy still maintained a good momentum of growth, emerging market economies continued to grow rapidly. The employment situation in industrialized countries generally improved, the pressure of inflation has slowed down, and the inflation in emerging market economies has been relatively stable. At the same time, the turmoil in international financial markets intensified and the global stock markets generally strengthened but their volatility increased significantly. The decline in the dollar increased, short-term interest rates rose significantly, and international commodity prices, especially precious and non-ferrous metals prices rose sharply. The main risks to the world economy are still the large number of variables in the geopolitical situation in the world. The international oil prices will continue to rise and the global economic imbalance will be hard to eliminate.
