一、引言 武汉气候条件的特点即夏季的湿热与冬季相对的寒冷。6—8月平均气温为27.9℃,冬季绝对低温为—9——10℃,甚至到—16℃以下(1954—1955年冬季)。雨量全年1,266毫米,多集中在4—7四个月,其总和为934.9毫米。根据一般文献记载,苹果栽培,夏季平均温度(从6—8月)不能超过26℃;所以,很多人认为武汉一带栽培苹果是不适宜的。又由於冬季的寒冷,柑桔也不能种值,这样武汉地区就成了果树沙漠,很多荒山废地不能利用,实觉可惜。作者除於1950年作苹果引种观察试验外,同时用种籽播种,结合培育方法进行驯化工作,目的试证明把北方苹果逐步南栘是否有可能性。

And because of the cold winter, citrus can not species value, so that Wuhan region has become a fruit tree desert, many barren hills and waste can not be used, I feel a pity. In addition to making introductions and tests of apples in 1950, the author also used seeds for seed cultivation and domesticated cultivation methods in order to prove whether it is possible to gradually step north of apples in the south.
