在《神奇宝贝》动画中为皮卡丘配音的演员大谷育江在接受采访时，提到了5件关于皮卡丘鲜为人知的事。
1. When Ikue Otani first auditioned for the role of Pikachu， she had no idea how popular Pokémon was at the time.
当大谷育江第一次为皮卡丘这个角色试音的时候，她还不知道《神奇宝贝》当时有多么受欢迎。
There were Pokémon posters all over the room at the
audition， and production officials were telling me that the characters were really popular among kids. All I could say was， “Oh， really？” The other voice actors auditioning for the roles had the same reaction.
试音房间贴满了《神奇宝贝》的海报，制片方告诉我这些角色很受孩子喜爱。而那时我只能回答道：“哦，真的吗？”其他参加试音的演员对此的反应也跟我一样。
2. The Pokemon were originally going to learn how to speak.
小精灵们原本被设计成可以说话的角色。
Pikachu was supposed to learn a language， like a baby learns a language， and that？謘s the way I was doing it at first. Then， a few months later， the producers told me Pikachu wasn？謘t going to speak.
皮卡丘本来可以学习一种语言，就像婴儿开始学说话一样，最初我也是按照这样练习配音的。几个月之后，制片人又告诉我皮卡丘将不会说话。
3. Pikachu does make another sound.
皮卡丘的确会发出别的声音。
In the very beginning， there was a scene where Pikachu yawned. But there？謘s no yawn sound within the “Pikachu” sound. So instead of using “chu”， I made this yawning sound at the end.
早期动画片里曾有一个皮卡丘打哈欠的镜头，但并没有为皮卡丘设计哈欠声，它一般只会发出“皮卡皮卡”的声音。于是我最后为它这个镜头加上了打哈欠的声音。
4. The show？謘s producers wanted pikachu to be a dude.
《神奇宝贝》的制作人想把皮卡丘的性别设为雄性。
When the first game came out， the Pokémon were neither male nor female. But by the second version， some Pokémon were male， and others female. But the production staff thought that Pikachu should be a boy， because if he were a girl， it could change the relationship between Pikachu and Satoshi.
第一部《口袋妖怪》游戏面世时，妖怪们还没有雌雄之分。但到了第二部游戏，一些妖怪被设定成雄性，而另外一些则是雌性。但《神奇宝贝》的制作人员认为皮卡丘应该是雄的，要给人一种小男孩的印象。如果它是雌的，那它和小智之间的关系就可能会受影响。
5. Pikachu’s Pika-pika lines are actually written.
皮卡丘的“皮卡皮卡”其实是有台词稿的。
The role is scripted， but the mouth movements may be a little different from what’s written in the script. So for example， if Pikachu wants to say something like “Yatte yaroze” （Let’s do it！）， I would say “Pika-pika-chu！”
虽然在配音时，角色台词都是照稿子念的，但配音演员实际发音口型会和台词有些出入。比如皮卡丘如果想说些像“Yatte yaroze”（我们去做吧！）之类的话时，我实际上发出的声音却是“Pika-pika-chu！”。
A greedy dog went into a butcher？謘s shop and stole a big juicy bone. He ran away so fast that the butcher could not catch him. He ran out into the fields with his bone. He was going to eat it all by himself.
一只贪心的狗跑到一家猪肉店偷了一根很大又有骨髓的骨头。它跑得很快，所以那个卖猪肉的人追不到它。它叼着大骨头跑到田野里，准备独自吃个痛快。
The dog came to a stream. There was a narrow bridge across it. The dog walked on to the bridge， and looked into the water. He could see another dog with a big bone in his mouth.
这只狗来到一条小溪边。溪上有一座窄窄的桥。它走上桥往水里面看，看见另一只狗嘴里叼着一根大骨头。
The greedy dog thought the bone in the water looked much bigger than the one he had stolen from the butcher.
这只贪心的狗认为水里面的那根骨头看起来比它从猪肉店偷来的骨头大多了。
The greedy dog dropped the bone from his mouth. It fell into the water and was lost. He jumped into the water to snatch the bigger bone from the other dog.
这只贪心的狗丢掉嘴里的骨头，骨头掉到水里不见了。它跳进水里，想从另一只狗那儿夺得那根更大的骨头。
The greedy dog jumped into the water with a big splash. He looked everywhere but he could not see the other dog. His shadow had gone.
这只贪心的狗跳进水里，溅起好多水花。它四处张望，可是却找不到那条狗。它的倒影不见了。
The silly dog went home hungry. He lost his bone and got nothing because he had been too greedy.
这只笨狗饿着肚子回了家。因为太贪心，它不仅弄丢了它的骨头，而且什么东西也没得到。
