Mount Everest is located in the middle of the Himalayas. On the China-Nepal border, it is the highest peak in the world. It is called “the third-class in the world” and its elevation is attracting worldwide attention. In addition to the 8884.13 meters measured by China in 1975, there are 8848 meters, 8840 meters, 8850 meters, and 8882 meters. On May 22, 2005, China’s Everest summit measurement team successfully measured the summit. On October 9, the Chinese government formally announced that the top of the peak of Mount Everest is 8844.43 meters above sea level. Parameter: The accuracy of the elevation measurement of the rock surface at the peak of Mount Everest is ±0.21 m; the ice depth at the peak is 3.50 m. In the end, how high is the Mt. Everest? What is the significance of this measure? For this reason, the “Current Affairs Report” specifically interviewed the director of the State Bureau of Surveying and Mapping Chen Bangzhu.
