This article discusses a remote data transmission system consisting of a single-chip microcomputer and a MODEM. This system uses ordinary local lines to communicate with PCs at the other end of the session. The MODEM in the system consists of a single low-speed modem chip MC145443. The paper introduces the performance characteristics of the chip and discusses the software and hardware working principle of the data transmission system.
