英语中有大量的双功能形容词,它们既可以表达物质意义,也可以传递心理意义。本文试从认知的角度,运用隐喻观,意象图式理论和认知范畴观对这类形容词的多义形成机制进行阐释,以期对提高词汇习得效率有所帮助。
There are a lot of bifunctional adjectives in English, which can not only express material meaning but also convey psychological meaning. This article attempts to explain the polysemy mechanism of such adjectives from the perspective of cognition, using the concepts of metaphor, image schema and cognitive category, in the hope of helping to improve the efficiency of vocabulary acquisition.
