南通市是我国14个沿海开放城市之一,随着改革、开放的逐步深化,社会主义民主建设的不断加强,人民群众的视野开阔了,思想更加活跃,对涉及到社会生活各方面的问题越来越关心,善于观察和思考问题,敢于发表意见和提出建议。我们认为,这些变化,既为办好《读者来信》专栏创造了有利条件,也对办好《读者来信》专栏提出了更高的要求。面对这一新情况,进一步发挥《读者来信》专栏联系广大群众的桥梁作用,从宏观与微观的结合上,经常反映人们所关心的各种问题,当好党委和政府的喉舌耳目,同时为群众排忧解难,就显得越来越重要。
