炉气分离器是煅烧系统中对炉气所含碱尘进行处理的关键设备，其作用主要是尽可能地降低炉气中所夹带的碱粉、洗涤器及炉气冷凝塔内Na2CO3含量，进一步降低滤碱机洗水当量（净化塔的净氨水送往过滤用作洗水）和炉气洗涤塔出口碱损失，净化炉气系统，使得炉气制碱低压机（炉气系统）运转更为平稳。
