过去摔圓料是把摔子放在下砧上,由两个人撑扶着。由于摔把短,操作的人离高温很近,面部和上身受到灼热的烘烤,尤其是在炎热的季节里,烘烤的更加厉害。同时在摔圓过程中,由于强力的錘击,有时还会把摔把震断,撑不稳还会把摔把子打飞。这对安全是非常不利的。另外由人工撑扶,摔子在下砧上会顫动,容易产生错移,因而容易把料摔废。所以改进摔料的方法,成了我們鍛工同志的共同願望。在生产大跃进中,鍛工摔料的任务也翻了几番,而改进摔料方法更成了急不可待的問题了。
