许多国家已广泛开展光纤、光缆和光缆信息传输系统的研制与应用工作。本文介绍一些资本主义国家采用的光缆系统和通信光缆的典型结构。美国芝加哥、亚特兰大、长滩市内电话网络中7～10公里长的光缆线路已经工作了四年。传输容量为672话路,传输速率为44.7兆毕/秒。1981年,纽约和旧金山市也都在敷设光缆市话网。
Many countries have carried out a wide range of optical fiber, optical cable and optical cable information transmission system development and application. This article describes the typical architecture of cable systems and communications cables used by some capitalist countries.
