Speight G-28系国外引进的烤烟良种,同我省的永定“401”、翠碧一号等相比,具有以下几个优点:(1)产量适中,内在质量好,上中等烟率高,特别是上等烟率高.1987年我县示范户平均亩产155公斤,上等烟率达55%,中一烟达12%;而省内品种上等烟率一般超不过10%,中一烟更少;(2)抗病性强;(3)耐肥,耐成熟;(4)烘烤耐火,易于烘烤.
