According to reports, at least part of President Clinton's economic plan has been passed by the House of Representatives. The 1993 National Competition Rules passed in the House of Representatives not long ago authorized a total investment of 1.54 billion U.S. dollars in two years to help private enterprises develop and adopt advanced technologies. Most of the money will be allocated to the Ministry of Commerce. The motion passed also expanded the commission to the NSF to some extent, including developing production technologies, cooperating in worker training, developing programs for collecting information on foreign technological forces and increasing the availability of long-term investments in key technologies Funds and plans to strengthen the National Institute of Standards and Technology. A similar motion is pending the vote of senators.
