西安重型机械研究所连铸设备组于74年1月对扁喷咀进行了初试。扁喷咀喷出的雾化水滴落水面不像圆喷咀那样构成圆形面,而是一个长的矩形面,适合于板坯连铸机使用。目前,板坯连铸机第一段二次冷却导辊细而长,在高温下容易变形。若在设计中加大导辊直径,往往因导辊间隙太小,难以把水喷到钢坯上,而扁喷咀可以把扁的矩形落水面的水通过较小的间隙喷到钢坯上进行冷却,这就有可能加粗导辊直径。西重所试验的扁喷咀的雾化片结构如图1所示,试验时喷水情况如图2所示,其流量特性如图3所示。试验时看到水的分布基本上是均匀的,所测得的数据列于附表。
