单士厘是晚清著名外交家钱恂的夫人、新文化运动主将钱玄同的大嫂。早年,她曾以外交使节夫人的身份随夫游历欧亚各国,并将见闻写成游记,被后人誉为“乃最早走出闺门、走向世界知识妇女之一”。在随夫君出使期间,如母的长嫂单士厘经常与小叔钱玄同有书信往来,在信中将自己的见闻和感受与小叔分享,如“日俄战争”调停、第二次“海牙和会”谈判等。本文收录了由钱玄同亲手制作成册的7封单士厘信札,均系首次面世,字里行间表现出她的爱国思想,以及对中国觉醒的思考与期望,体现了一位晚清知识女性对国事的关注与认知。
Shan Shili was the wife of Qian Qing, a famous diplomat in the late Qing dynasty. In her early years, she traveled to Europe and Asia with her husband in the capacity of diplomatic envoy and wrote “Travel Notes” as “Travel Notes”. Later her name was “one of the earliest women to go out and get to know the world.” During his emigration with husband, his eldest sister, Chang Shili, often wrote correspondence with his younger brother Qian Xuan, sharing his own knowledge and feelings with his younger brother, such as the “Russo-Japanese War” mediation, Second “Hague Peace Conference” negotiations. This article contains a series of seven single-letter books made by Qian Xuan-tung, all of which were published for the first time. Her lines of patriotism and her thoughts and expectations of awakening in China reflect a pair of women in the late Qing Dynasty National Concern and Cognition.
