Based on the corpora of newspapers, news websites and new issue dictionaries in China and Japan since the 1980s, this essay explores the characteristics and changes of the interaction between Chinese and Japanese words and expressions and explores the affective factors that influence the interaction of words and phrases. The conclusion of this paper is that with the continuous improvement of China’s overall national strength, Chinese people are more confident and accessible to Chinese characters and have an inclusive attitude toward Chinese characters and words created outside the territory. Therefore, the new Japanese words can enter modern Chinese in a large amount and be shaped. In contrast, since the spread of Chinese characters to Japan, the Japanese have been in the paradox of respect and de-Chinesization of Chinese characters. After the war in Japan restrictions on Chinese characters, the proportion of Chinese pronunciation of reading words in Japanese continued to decline. Despite frequent contacts between China and Japan in various aspects, the number of Chinese neologisms entering modern Japanese language has been increasing year by year, but its scope of transmission is restricted and its recognition is not high, which affects its stereotype in Japanese.
