劳伦斯·克莱因教授是美国著名的经济计量学家。他构建了许多有关美国和其它各国的经济统计模型，还创建了著名的沃顿经济计量预测协会。他是 LINK项目的主要策划者，这个大型项目将全世界各国的经济模型综合起来，跟踪研究国际贸易、国际收支和全球经济活动。克莱因教授因其在经济计量学方面的重大贡献而获得了 1980年的诺贝尔经济学奖。 2000年 9月 11日，克莱因教授参加了中国社会科学院世界经济与政治研究所授予他名誉研究员的仪式。会后，他欣然接受了本刊记者的采访。
Professor Lawrence Klein is a famous American economist. He built a number of economic statistics models for the United States and other countries and also created the prestigious Wharton Association for Econometrics Forecasting. He is the lead planner for the LINK project, a large project that brings together the economic models of countries around the world and tracks international trade, balance of payments and global economic activity. Professor Klein won the 1980 Nobel Prize for Economics for his significant contribution to econometrics. On September 11, 2000, Professor Klein attended a ceremony honored as an honorary fellows by the Institute of World Economics and Politics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. After the meeting, he readily accepted the correspondents interview.
